I didn't have time to write this newsletter last month but here's what's in this one for you this month:
- A new website
- A European tour
- Portuguese Television
- Video clips of early rock & rollers
- Sax Radio and more...
New Website
My new recording Rock & Roll Saxophonist CD has a new home, a
website all of it's own... This site takes an in-depth look at the
recording, the music, people involved etc.

Holland Tour With Candye Cayne
Candye Kane
has invited me on her European tour in The Netherlands next month.
This is a very special event indeed cause it will directly involve
special needs children after the show to join the musicians onstage
and let them perform with the band. Candye has done it before and
tells me it's like magic for those kids so I'm looking forward to
being a part of it. It's called the United
By Music tour and our Dutch friends can check out the link and
hopefully see you soon! (it's in Dutch)
TV Show
And for my Portuguese friends... RTP
(Portuguese international station) and OMNI Television out of Toronto
will have a feature on me Sept. 19 and repeated again Oct 3rd www.rtp.pt
Classic Video Clips
Sax On The Web is the
cyberspace hangout for many saxophonists and sax fans. They have
asked me to do an article on saxophone recording techniques
which should be featured by the end of the month. A regular contributor
of SOTW, Neil Sharpe, who also was kind enough to write the
liner notes for Rock & Roll Saxophonist has been turning me onto
some recently discovered footage from the early era of rock & roll.
Here's a couple of the links for you to enjoy;
Shotgun
by Jr Walker
Long Tall Sally
by Little Richard
They say this is the year for video on the internet and the site youtube is a major player where a lot of video types are posting their stuff. If you haven't checked it out yet you might want to do so cause there's something there for everyone.
