Our Privacy Commandments
Our Responsibility
We act responsibly for personal information under our control. Johnny
Ferreira himself has decided to be the web site Privacy Officer
(he loves titles), to keep an eye out for compliance with the these
Privacy Commandments. When we make arrangements with other businesses
to perform activities for us such as fulfilling orders, delivering
packages or processing payments, we do so only with organizations
that have privacy policies themselves.
Purpose for Collecting Personal Information
The reasons why we gather your personal information are usually
self evident (e.g. we can’t send you a disk if we don’t
know your address, can we?). If not obvious, we expressly identify
the purpose(s) for which your personal information is collected
by us.
Your Consent
You should be aware that by using our web site services, buying
our products or marking any check-off boxes, you are giving your
consent for us to use your personal information in all the ways
reasonably necessary to allow us to provide access to our web site
and supply our products and services (including their purchase and
delivery). You can withdraw your consent to our use of your personal
information by letting us know in writing, but if you do so, we
may be unable to provide our site or products or services to you.
Limiting Collection
We can be accused of many things — but not of being pack rats,
so we don’t collect and store personal information unless
it is really necessary for the purposes that we describe in these
Privacy Commandments.
Limiting Use
Your personal information will not be deliberately used or disclosed
by us for purposes other than those for which it was originally
collected, unless you tell us to do so, or as otherwise permitted
by law. We will only keep your personal information as long as necessary
for these purposes, or as required by law.
Accuracy
We try to keep your personal information accurate and up to date,
but we really need your help in doing a good job of this, so please
let us know if there are errors in our records.
Letting You In On the Know
If you need more information about how we manage your personal information,
just ask us!
Checking Your Personal Information
You may wonder what personal information we have about you. All
you have to do is ask and we will tell you what we have, how we
use it and whether we disclose it to any of our supporting organizations
(such as shipping companies). If you find any mistakes in your information,
make sure that you get back to us so that we can make all the necessary
changes.Due to legal requirements, we may not be able to disclose
certain information to you that contains references to other individuals,
or that cannot be disclosed for security or proprietary reasons,
or that is subject to lawyer-client privilege. There are various
other restrictions, but we don’t want to turn this into a
legal text (this can get pretty complicated . . . )
